Monster Mashup

Moonshine creates viral magic

After the successful launch of a new website for Reverse Charge Telco company, 1800 Reverse, together with its UK and Irish counterparts, Reverse again engaged Moonshine to create a viral interactive game that would generate awareness for their new character mascot, Justin Case. It was decided that a highly interactive, comedic, user photo-upload based campaign was required to generate viral spread and create the opportunity for Justin Case to become a recognizable character in the lives of Reverse’s young demographic.

The resulting viral concept, called Monster Mash Up, features Justin Case dancing his way through a series of ten popular dance styles. Visitors can select 5 dances, and upload two faces, to create a dance video sequence of themselves and Justin Case. The basic premise of this video based interactive ‘game’ is to allow users to create their own dance music video mash up by selecting various dances and uploading their own photos, which are loaded onto pre-recorded bodies.

In order to build the game, Moonshine utilized its cross platform expertise to both film the dancers on green screen, and developed the interface using Flash.

The viral video game will be supported by a series of social media initiatives including the seeding of a FaceBook quiz titled “Which Dance Style R U?”. A direct marketing campaign to Reverse’s extensive database will further drive interaction between Reverse’s youth demographic and the Monster Mash Up game. Monster Mash Up is hosted at www.monster-mashup.com

The Pain Killers

One in every ten people alive today will die in severe pain because the cheap medicine they need is derived from opium, one of the most controversial and controlled substances on Earth.

The battle between cops enforcing increasing levels of regulation and docs fighting for improved access to opioid medicines has been raging for decades. But now, with exploding numbers of patients experiencing severe pain due to cancer and HIV/AIDS, the balance between regulation and access must be urgently addressed. As members of a civil society we must decide where the balance lies.

THE PAIN KILLERS is a one-hour, prime-time documentary exploring the complex barriers that patients and doctors must struggle to overcome to access essential pain medicines.

Moonshine Movies is delighted to announce that we have received sponsorship from the Mayday Fund and the International Association for the Study of Pain which will enable us to conduct extensive shooting in India during early 2010.

We also thank Lance Armstrong Foundation for their support enabling us to shoot at the Livestrong Global Cancer Summit in Dublin in August, as well as Screen Australia and Film Victoria for their ongoing support in the developing the project and enabling us to conduct strategic shooting in Washington DC and New York in May.

Vividas Partner Program 2010

Vividas - a new direction for 2010

Vividas is leading the way in webcasting software and in November 2009 they launched their new marketing initiative partner program.

Moonshine was engaged to work with Vividas and create the new reseller program along with the necessary sales, instructional and marketing collateral.

Vividas together with Moonshine’s creative team put together a visually compelling animation to outline the key benefits of their software. The project involved building a vector based, flowing animation that detailed and simplified how their software worked whilst emphasising its superiority over its competitors.

Along with the animation Moonshine created the training videos and designed all collateral for the new reseller program.

1800 Reverse uses pop culture in their banners!

1800 Reverse approached Moonshine to come up with a creative idea for an online banner campaign to appear on Habbo, Nickelodeon, Dolly, Channel V and Myspace. In an effort to gain maximum attention Moonshine put together stylized banners to speak to the respective audiences. The inclusion of their current monster character was briefed in with a series of taglines that ran with their television campaign.

The result was a series of ads that were stylized to merge with the graphical elements of the websites they were presented on, and were themed to popular television shows and films. The idea to ride on the back of the hype surrounding existing popular culture both visually and conceptually in an effort to gain maximum attention in the demographic.

Love the beast Trailer

Love The Beast

What if you were a Hollywood movie star with an obsession for cars and racing? You would probably read every script with even the tiniest link to the subject matter, in the hope that you could tell a great car story of the likes of “Grand Prix”, “Le Mans” or “Mad Max”. Then one day you happened to open your garage door and sitting there, right in front of you, was the film you had been searching for.

This is how “Love the Beast” was born. Whyte House Productions teamed up with Pick Up Truck Pictures and began production on Eric Bana’s directorial debut feature documentary back in early 2007 and now is excited that the rest of the world will get to see the film when it releases on March 12th 2009.

INKK MOBILE (FIJI)

Launched in November 2007, INKK Mobile is the second mobile phone operator in Fiji Islands.

INKK Mobile is positioned as a fun, accessible brand with a value for money proposition suitable to the expectations of Fijian customers. In line with this core value position, customers only pay for what they use as Inkk Mobile bills by the second as opposed to the standard 30-second allotment. This product feature has been a fresh rate plan initiative for Fiji and has been extremely successful in recruiting and retaining customers.

The marketing brief awarded to Moonshine and Media Futures required creative and strategic support for a brand and product launch in Fiji.   The initial challenge was building a brand with new consumer offers in a market dominated for 13 years by a single mobile supplier.  Thus a major marketing objective was to obtain market share, and as stipulated in the brief, this needed to be a minimum of 20,000 customers in one year.

Here we are18 months later and Inkk now has 200,000 customers and growing (in a market of 1,000,000).

Matt Prichard is Jailbait

Matt Pritchard Is Jailbait is an interactive cross-platform experience bridging the gap between television,
online and mobile through viral entertainment. The Jailbait project was commissioned by ZON3D,
a targeted niche content supplier of action-sports themed mobile phone content.

Moonshine produced the campaign creative and managed the design of the www.zon3d.com website and mobile WAP
site, film production of the viral and television assets, post-production and distribution services relating to the Jailbait
television special and a PR communications strategy supporting the campaign launch.

The narrative premise for the campaign revolves around infamous entertainer Matt Pritchard (from Dirty Sanchez fame) who
has been thrown in jail on a trumped-up indecent exposure charge. By visiting the website, www.jailbaitlive.tv, the audience
are invited to tap into a closed-circuit video feed direct from his jail cell and are encouraged to type in orders which Pritch,
their subservient celebrity, is then compelled to respond to. A sophisticated call-and-response engine sends a video clip
back to the viewer’s computer or mobile phone in real time. Moonshine continue to work closely with the ZON3D brand
and it parent company Bullroarer in a creative and strategic capacity.

Ridley Bike and the Tour de France

Cadel Evans, Ridley Bike and the Tour de France - Competition Case Study
Ridley Bikes has built bicycles, carbon fiber and aluminium frames since 1990 and quickly became the
leading manufacturer in Belgium. Ridley racing bikes have become synonymous with success as shown
by the spectacular performance of brand ambassador Cadel Evans in the 2008 Tour de France.
Moonshine was commissioned by Ridley Bikes Australia (Pacific Brands) to create and manage a
consumer competition that generated brand and product interest, closely associated Cadel Evans with the
Ridley brand, and bolstered the registered members of the Ridley Australia consumer database.
Teaming up with SBS, the official Tour broadcaster, Moonshine coordinated a consumer competition that was promoted
on air nightly for one month. The TV commercial promoting the competition strongly reinforced Cadel Evans as riding
Ridley and promoted the new top-of-the-line product as part of the prize pool. Moonshine oversaw the TV commercial
production and placement on SBS as well as supporting the campaign with a targeted communications strategy.
The competition received over 60,000 unique entries and has opened new direct marketing channels to Ridley Bikes in
Australia. Moonshine continues to work closely with Ridley as well as associated bike brands including Malvern Star.
